Here only by popular demand. We don't recommend the extra weight because AP threats are exceedingly rare. But we admit they are not pointless: the heavier duty plates will absorb hits from lesser threats with reduced backface deformation vs the 3+, and peace of mind is priceless. So because of this, we'll keep level 4 options available.
Designed to provide high end level performance at budget pricing, our ceramic composite plates deliver "to the edge"* protection- compared to ceramic composite systems from other manufacturers, who we will not name to avoid a pissing match**, which have up to 20mm of filler foam around the edges instead of ballistic ceramics.

Regular sized plates are 9.5"x12.25" actual, 10x12 nominal, and will fit any common plate carrier that accepts SAPI Medium plates.
level 4 plates weigh ~5.9lbs and are approximately 1" thick.
*The edge of the plate is still more vulnerable to hits, as with all armor systems, but the area of vulnerability is reduced by extension of the ceramic layer to cover most of the strike face. This plate has a 5mm wide strip around the perimeter that is not tiled, for a surface area tile coverage ratio of ~87%. Industry leaders frequently produce plates with 73% or lower tile coverage.
**No really, we won't, but if you really have to know- you can YouTube up some armor tests and watch the cut up disassemblies for the big brands.
